Nellaiappar And Kanthimathi Temple


It is situated in the centre of the Tirunelveli Town and at a distance of two Km. from the Railway Station.


The temple in Krishnapuram is dedicated to Lord Krishna. There are number of Life size Sculptures in this temple with intrigate workmanship. It is 13km from Tirunelveli.


It is an excellant resort. The picturesque surroundings with the backdrops of cloud capped spurs of the western ghats land an unsual charm to the falls. There are eight falls namely, Main Falls, Five Falls, Shenbaga Falls, Tiger Falls, Old Courtallam Falls, Honey Falls, Orchard Falls and Sitraruvi. Season June to September.


The Lingam in this temple is the personification of earth. The temple was built by Ukirapandiar who ruled this are in the early part of 11th Century.


It is Kasi (Varanasi) of the South. The temple here is 400 years old. It is 53kms from Tirunelveli.

Sri Vaigundam

It is famous for temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu known as Srivaikundapathiswamy with a lofty Tower.

Pottal Pudur Dargha

The centre of attraction of this palace is the oldest dargha built around the year 1674. This dargha attracts not only the Muslims but Hindus and Christians also in equal in numbers.
